The March on Washington was a historical rally held on August 28, 1963. The March on Washington is where MLK's iconic "I Have A Dream" speech was given. The documentary The March discussed what happened from the events that lead to the orginization of the March all the way to the actual march.

Many of the events that inspired The March on Washibgton occurred in the most segregated city city in America, during that time, Birmingham, Alabama. Once a black boy who was simply riding his bike was knocked off his bike and castrated in Birmingham, Alabama. Also, another time a black couple brushed shoulders with a cap and the man was pistol whipped to the ground by the cop. There was even an incident where the governor of Alabama refused to allow Vivian Malone Jones and James Hood attend the University of Alabama because they were black.

A. Philip Randolph and Philip Buston were the biggest forces behind the march due to the fact that it was their idea. The two worked alongside a list of civil rights activist (Roy Wilkins, John Lewis, James Farmer, Martin Luther King Jr., Philip Randolph, Whitney Young, etc.) to make sure the march was successful.

There were around 250,000 people at the march. Each and everyone of these 250,000 people protesting for the equal rights of African Americans. There were more than 2,000 buses that took protesters to Washington and about 10 airplanes of people flying from all across the country to attend the march.

The highlight of the march was unanimously Dr. King's speech where he tells the world about his dream of a world where all races and religions can all come together and love as one.
